About Meggan

Meggan Watterson is an author, meditation teacher, and scholar of the divine feminine who inspires seekers to live guided by the soul-voice inside them. Her first book, REVEAL (Hay House, 2013), is described as "ignited prayer" by Eve Ensler, "life-changing" by Dr. Christiane Northrup, and “a blessing to the world” by Gabrielle Bernstein. She is the co-author of How To Love Yourself (And Sometimes Other People): Spiritual Advice for Modern Relationships (Hay House, 2015). Megg wrote a collection of 40 love poems to the divine, with artwork by Lisbeth Cheever-Gessaman, titled, The Sutras of Unspeakable Joy. She is the author of The Divine Feminine Oracle, a card deck and guidebook for embodying radical love (Hay House, 2018). And she's currently writing a book about Mary Magdalene (Hay House, 2019.) Meggan has a Masters of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School and a Masters of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University. "It's crucial for us to have reliable contraception, at the same time we need to have contraception that doesn't damage our bodies. We don't have a positive story about menstruation because there isn't a culture of empowerment around menstruation, women are taught to see it as a problem and the enemy and they don't develop a relationship with it. The moment you develop a relationship, you feel held by something very beautiful, you start to learn when you're fertile and not fertile. It becomes a very organic, embodied sense, you have greater confidence to know that you can use fertility awareness as your form of contraception.

You see the problem today is that women are not given the true story on hormonal contraception. We need a much bolder conversation about the reality, but before that, we need a new story being fed, being built up from the ground..." -Alexandra 

"When we're on hormonal contraception, we're actually cut off from our deep selves. In particular the thing that we're severed from is our spiritual connection and our creativity and it makes manifesting our calling and getting to know ourselves so much harder because that is what the cycle does, over the years of our life, the cycle is helping us to know ourselves and bring more of who we are into the world. The moment you have contraceptive you're stunting your development on some level. It's a really big deal." -Sjanie
